A good photograph cannot tell you how a horse is handled, whether a route suits your riding, or who will be there when you arrive; those are the questions that matter when choosing a trip.
We look for hosts who put horse care first, with suitable workloads, time to rest, careful handling, and respect for each horse’s temperament.
Local guides know their horses and routes, while their knowledge of the terrain helps shape the riding and the advice you receive.

Even as a beginner, I would wholeheartedly recommend this experience, especially because of how well organized it is and the attention that the guides give to each person. I would definitely go back to Menorca just to do this excursion again.

Before you saddle up
From choosing the right ride to planning the practical details, here are a few things you might be wondering.
Do I need riding experience?
Not for every journey: our Zimbabwe stay welcomes all riding levels, while the Greater Kruger conservation stay is for riders who are confident at walk, trot and canter. Tell us how much riding you have done and what feels comfortable, so we can help you choose an experience that suits you.
Can I come on my own?
Yes, both Zimbabwe and Greater Kruger welcome solo travellers, so you do not need to bring a riding partner to begin your story. We will talk through your dates and accommodation arrangements with you before you book.
How long can I stay?
Our Zimbabwe and Greater Kruger stays can be planned for seven, fourteen or twenty-one nights, with longer stays available on request. If you have a particular amount of time in mind, share it with us and we can explore the options around your dates.
What is included in the journey price?
Both signature stays include accommodation, riding, conservation activities and transfers from their local arrival airport. Zimbabwe includes full board and non-alcoholic drinks, while Greater Kruger includes groceries and a communal kitchen; international flights are separate, and the full inclusions and exclusions are set out in each journey brochure and confirmed with your quotation.
Can I bring family or someone who does not ride?
Zimbabwe welcomes non-riders as well as riders, which makes it worth exploring when you would like to travel together without spending every day in the saddle. For a family or private journey, tell us the ages, interests and riding experience in your group, so we can discuss which activities and arrangements would work for everyone.
How do I start planning?
